Christmas Monster Concert
Just a reminder. The Christmas Monster Concert is fast approaching. It will be held on Saturday, December 6th. We usually hold the concert around 1:00 with a dress rehearsal that morning. The rehearsals will be held during that week. Those participating should be feverishly working on their duets. I will also schedule some Nursing/Retirement home performances so they have another opportunity to share their Christmas music.

Group Classes
Just a reminder: I will be in Prague for an Advent Choral Festival from November 19th through 26th. We will be having Group Piano class on Monday November 17th and Tuesday November 18th. There will be no lessons the week of Thanksgiving. I doubled up with private lessons the week of the recitals to compensate for this. I am currently scheduling classes and will be sending out an email. Please let me know which day will work best for you as quickly as possible.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Annual Piano Competition
This past weekend was the annual EIMTA Piano Competition. I am so proud of all the students who prepared and performed. I hope they had a positive experience.
Students who won first place awards are: Ellie Myers, Luke Myers, Brinley Wood, Ashlyn Dyer and Leslie Wright.
Abbey Jensen won 2nd place. (Abbey and Ellie competed against each other in the finals.) Bravo to both of them - they were AWESOME!!!
1st Alternate Honorable Mentions went to: Whitney Wood, Andrew Stephenson, Sarah Minor, Camille Hinkson and Parker Erikson
Honorable Mention awards went to: Brianne Baker, Coleman Baker, Sami Trane, Melanie Jackson, and Brooklynn Dyer.
All of the students who participated received excellent comments and critiques from their highly qualified judges. This competition draws students from Rexburg to Pocatello and the competition is fierce. The students who participate are studying with the best teachers in the area and are highly motivated and well prepared so any recognition is highly commendable. I appreciate those who attended the Honors Recital. I know that they learned alot from listening to the other performers and I hope I can encourage more students to participate next year.

Halloween Bash!!
I am holding a Halloween Bash/Recital at my home on Wednesday, October 29th at 7:00. Costumes are strongly encouraged and those coming in costume will be entered into a drawing for a Spooky door prize.
Because of the size of my living room, this concert is for students only. It should last about 1 hour and will be followed by refreshments. I can have your child call you when they are finished if that is convenient for you.
Please remember to have your student mark their practice time and get your signature for our Super Star Practicing Contest. It will run through the end of the month. A $25.00 gift card is the Grand Prize and a $10.00 gift card is the 2nd prize.

I have scheduled a later recital on Wednesday, November 5th at Piano Gallery -6:00 p.m for those students who are not quite ready for the October recital.

2008 MTNA Piano Competition
The Competition will be held the weekend of November 7th & 8th. I just received the schedule and will be emailing those today. I will also have the schedule at the recital. I will be sending your scheduled times home and also by email as soon as I get them. If your student is chosen to be one of the two to perform in the recital - they are required to be there. First Alternate Honorable Mention is also required to attend. It is my studio policy to require the attendance of all students who have participated or who would like to participate next year. You can choose which of the two recitals is most convenient if you are not required to be at a particular one. It is a highly beneficial educational experience to see their peers perform in this concert. I would strongly encourage all of my students to attend one of the concerts.
